A Christmas hamper is a very unique gift for the holiday for anyone, including friends, family, clients and employees. The tradition of giving this hamper came for the ‘Boxing Day’ in England where many times a master would give servants a box that was full of gifts on December 26th. The traditional basket contained butter, wine and pudding but today’s Xmas hamper is created with more of a theme. The gifts inside are being chosen carefully with tradition and indulgence in mind.
The original Christmas hamper was filled with food and spirits and included many Christmas goodies. Treats inside the hamper came from both international and local areas so the person giving the hamper was just as excited as the one receiving it.
The hampers itself can be given in all sizes and shapes. Many times there is a mixture of sweet and savory items and often times something alcoholic can be found in them too. Not only will the one receiving the hamper be thrilled with the gifts inside, but also with the hamper. Once emptied, the Christmas hamper can be used for numerous things, including storage and decoration.
Today a Xmas hamper can be bought in a store or you can put one together at home; simply purchase an empty basket made of wicker and fill it with gifts you know one will love.
