I had little time to help my mother bake, but she enjoyed Christmas Hampers even more!

Christmas comes with many culinary traditions– fruitcakes, cider, cookies for Santa, and gingerbread men. However, these traditions originated in a simpler, more laid-back era when people had time to get together with their friends and family and spend hours baking and preparing. Even if we mourn the passing of these bygone days, most of us must accept that living in today’s fast-paced world means that few of us have such spare time.

My mother is a very traditional person who very much misses those “good old days.” Sometimes I feel I disappoint her when my workload is too high to stay at home all day in her kitchen. However, I’m happy to say I have found an excellent way to make it up to her– Christmas Hampers. There are many different types of Christmas Hampers, but they all contain foods that bring back memories of the best Christmases in the past. I bought her two xmas hampers; one of the hampers contained a sampling of Christmas cookies, while the other of the hampers contained delicious fruitcakes. This year, the whole family gathered around the fireplace to enjoy our Christmas treats straight from the beautiful wicker hampers.
